CYBERJAYA: Gerakan Tanah Air is hoping to fill at least 30% representation among young candidates in the 15th General Election, says Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
The Gerakan chairman and former prime minister however said the number would depend on the number of talents in the coalition.
"We hope to have about 30% of youth but that depends on the talents available.
"If it doesn't reach 30% then we're disappointed but we hope for more than that," he told the media at the "Suara Tanah Air" programme organised by the Gerakan youth wing, here, on Saturday (Oct 1).
Dr Mahathir said the coalition is confident that they can win the election and already have a "Plan B" in place if Gerakan had yet to be approved by the Registrar of Society (RoS).
He said however there were no issues to register Gerakan but there were also over 30 other parties waiting for approval.
"There are no issues in registering Gerakan as we have abided by the law," he said.
Dr Mahathir however kept mum on the supposedly alternate plan should Gerakan haven't been approved in time for GE15.
