Covid-19 Watch: 1,186 new cases, says Health Ministry


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,186 new Covid-19 infections on Monday (Sept 26), says the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said through data released on its CovidNow portal on Tuesday (Sept 27) that this brings the new total to 4,833,008 cases since the pandemic began.

Of the 1,186, one was an imported case while the rest were local.

The ministry also said through its CovidNow portal that there were 1,690 recoveries on Monday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 24,021.

Of the active cases, 95.2% or 22,874 individuals were undergoing home quarantine, while one person was being treated at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres (PKRC).

Only 4.6% of active cases or 1,094 individuals needed to be hospitalised, with 52 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.

Of that number, 35 require ventilator support.
