Dr Wee wishes well to outgoing Marine Department DG


PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has expressed his gratitude to retiring Marine Department director-general Datuk Baharin Abdul Hamid.

"Happy birthday and happy retirement to Baharin who served as Marine Department director-general for eight years.

"He has served with the Marine Department since 1984 and played a significant role by taking on various responsibilities, including as harbour master in Kedah, Penang and Perlis," said the Transport Minister on Facebook on Monday (Sept 26).

Dr Wee said Baharin was also a professor at Universiti Kuala Lumpur and vice-president of South Korea's Mokpo National Maritime University.

"On behalf of the Transport Ministry, especially the Marine Department, I wish to express my highest gratitude for Baharin's services," added Dr Wee.
