Covid-19 Watch: 1,924 new cases, says Health Ministry

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,924 new Covid-19 infections on Saturday (Sept 24), says the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said through data released on its CovidNow portal on Sunday (Sept 25) that this brings the new total to 4,830,214 cases since the pandemic began.

None of the 1,924 cases are imported, all are local infections.

The CovidNow portal also said that there were 2,360 recoveries on Saturday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 25,278.

Of the active cases, 95.5% or 24,136 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while two people are being treated at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres (PKRC).

Only 4.3% of active cases or 1,089 individuals needed to be hospitalised, with 51 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.

Of that number, 28 require ventilator support.
