Online child predator caught in Seremban in joint investigation with FBI


PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a suspected online child predator, following a joint investigation with the FBI.

In a statement late Wednesday (Sept 21) night, Police secretary Deputy Comm Datuk Noorsiah Mohd Saaduddin said that the suspect was arrested on Sept 19, in Seremban.

"The 24 year old suspect is a foreign student in a higher education institution and a large amount of pornographic material was discovered in his laptop and handphone.

"Investigations showed that the suspect had used social media to communicate and trap his victims. He would then 'sextort' his victims," she said.

All victims have been found to have been from overseas.

His arrest was aided in part by the FBI and he will be charged at the Seremban magistrate court on Thursday (Sept 22).
