Covid-19 Watch: 1,307 new cases, says Health Ministry


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,307 new Covid-19 infections on Monday (Sept 19), says the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said through data released on its CovidNow portal on Tuesday (Sept 20) that this brings the new total to 4,820,197 cases since the pandemic began.

Of the 1,307, four are imported cases while 1,303 are local.

The CovidNow portal also said that there were 1,830 recoveries on Monday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 25,083.

Of the active cases, 95.1% or 23,866 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 2 people are being treated at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres (PKRC).

Only 4.6% of active cases or 1,160 individuals needed to be hospitalised, with 55 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.

Of that number, 36 require ventilator support.
