KUALA LUMPUR: Seven police reports have been lodged against a motivational speaker in connection with allegations of sexual abuse.
Royal Malaysia Police secretary Deputy Comm Datuk Noorsiah Mohd Saaduddin said four investigation papers in Selangor and two investigation papers in Negri Sembilan have been referred to the deputy public prosecutor with the recommendation to prosecute under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offence against Children Act 2017.
"Another investigation paper in Kuala Lumpur is still being completed," she said in a statement on Sunday (Sept 18).
Previously, Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed said that police reports were lodged against the speaker by four individuals, aged 17 and 18, and they claimed that they were victims of sexual abuse with the perpetrator being a known motivational speaker.
"Investigations showed that the suspect, aged in his 40s, had known all four victims during motivational programmes at schools across Selangor. After getting to know them, the suspect would then sexually abuse the victims," he said.
The suspect was arrested on Sept 8 at the Selangor police headquarters and subsequently remanded.
