Umno even now counting on Najib, say political analysts

PETALING JAYA: He may be behind bars but Umno is still counting on Datuk Seri Najib Razak to help shore up grassroots support in the coming general election, say political analysts.

Azmi Hassan, a senior fellow at Nusantara Academy for Strategic Research, said Umno has sent a clear message that it will back its former party president “all the way” and not dissociate itself from him.
