KUALA LUMPUR: Go and find out yourself - these were the words of Datuk Seri Najib Razak's lead counsel Tan Sri Shafee Abdullah when asked about the former premier's wellbeing.
Shafee, who seemed to have been annoyed at being surrounded by the media upon returning to the Kuala Lumpur court after his lunch break, also refused to give any comment, fearing that his words would be twisted.

"I am not going to say anything because you twist and turn our words..even in court," he said.
Shafee had earlier arrived in court at 9.38am in a white SUV for Najib's 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) RM2.28bil embezzlement case.

Today is the former prime minister's first appearance after being sent to prison on Tuesday (Aug 23) following the Federal Court's dismissal of his final appeal in the SRC International Sdn Bhd case.
On Tuesday, Najib became the first former prime minister in the country's history to be sent to prison after the Federal Court upheld the High Court' conviction and sentence.

On July 28, 2020, the Kuala Lumpur High Court sentenced Najib to 12 years in jail and a total fine of RM210mil after being found guilty of seven charges of criminal breach of trust, money laundering and abuse of position in the RM42mil SRC International case.
