Umno doesn't need a poster boy, says Puad Zarkashi

PETALING JAYA: Umno doesn't need a “poster boy” for the 15th general election as it is no longer a relevant strategy, says supreme council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi.

"It is now a liability, a punching bag or a weapon which could kill us and it is better to cancel the poster boy," said Mohd Puad in a Facebook post on Wednesday (Aug 24).

"It is better to use the Barisan Nasional logo as inanimate objects are difficult to slander and the logo is already ingrained in people's minds.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob was named as the poster boy for GE15 at the Umno supreme council meeting in April.
