Final SRC appeal: I support Najib's decision to drop my firm, says Zaid

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Zaid Ibrahim says he gives his "full support and agreement" to Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s decision to discharge his law firm in the SRC International final appeal.

“I stand by my earlier statement that my firm will never abandon Najib as our client, or any other client. That is neither our culture nor tradition.

“The client’s interest is paramount. I wish Najib the very best. I will always be there to help him in any situation, as a lawyer and a friend,” he said in a Facebook post.

Earlier, lawyer Hisyam Teh Poh Teik had informed the court on Friday (Aug 19) that Zaid's firm - Zaid Ibrahim Suflan TH Liew & Partners (ZIST) - was no longer with Najib in the appeal.

At the outset of the proceedings, Hisyam stood up to tell the apex court that ZIST has been let go.

Just days before the hearing began on Aug 15, Zaid said in a statement that ZIST would not abandon its client, Najib.
