Integra Tower evacuated following bomb threat at KWAP office


KUALA LUMPUR:An emergency evacuation was order at the Integra Tower in Jalan Tun Razak here following a bomb threat

Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah confirmed a bomb threat was received via phone call.

"We are still gathering information on the incident," he said when contacted on Wednesday.

It is believed that a call was made to police claiming that a bomb had been planted in the Retirement Fund Inc (KWAP) office there.

KWAP is the agent appointed by the Federal Government to pay pensions, gratuity or other benefits to government retirees.

The City police Bomb Disposal Unit was dispatched to the scene to sweep for the alleged explosive.

The building was cordoned off as soon as it was evacuated.
