Three detained over Ampang Waterfront service centre break-in


AMPANG: Three men were detained in connection with breaking into a service centre near Ampang Waterfront and stealing RM30,000 worth of items.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said police received a report that the incident happened about 7.50am on Aug 8.

"The service centre’s employee reported that the office was ransacked.

"Many items worth about RM30,000 were missing including computers and a CCTV decoder," he said when contacted on Thursday (Aug 11).

ACP Mohamad Farouk said three men were detained in separate raids in Shah Alam on Wednesday (Aug 10).

"Two of the suspects had previous criminal records.

"We also seized the stolen items and brought it to the Ampang Jaya police headquarters for further action," he said.

ACP Mohamad Farouk said police believed that they had solved four cases of break-ins in Ampang Jaya, Sungai Buloh, Subang and Alor Gajah, Melaka, with the arrests of the suspects.

"We appreciate the cooperation of the public.

"Those with information on any criminal activity should contact the nearest police station," he said.
