Covid-19 Watch: 3,083 new cases bring total to 4,714,498


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 3,083 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday (Aug 9), says the Health Ministry.

According to the ministry's CovidNow portal, 3,080 of the new Covid-19 infections in the country were local transmissions, while there were 3 imported cases.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 4,714,498 cases since the pandemic began.

A total of 12 deaths were recorded on Monday with three classified as being brought in dead, bringing the total to 36,044.
