Sabah schoolkids take boat across river after bridge swept away

KOTA KINABALU: Some 30 students from Kampung Mangkabusu in Pitas are using a sampan (small boat) back and forth across the Sungai Bengkoka after a suspension bridge was washed away by floods last year.

The situation had been going on for more than half a year and had caused the schooling session of students from SK Mandurian to be disrupted as they are often unable to attend school if the water level rises.
