Two men detained over the death of a teenager at Sarawak General Hospital

KUCHING: Two men have been arrested in connection with the death of an 18-year-old boy at Sarawak General Hospital.

Acting Kuching OCPD, Supt Merbi Lisa said police have classified the case as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

He said the boy was alleged to have suffered serious injuries after being beaten up by the two in front of a shophouse in Jalan Tun Jugah at about 1am on Friday (July 29).

"The boy died on Friday where he was admitted for treatment for the injuries," he said on Sunday (July 31).

Supt Merbi added that the suspects were later ordered by the Magistrate's Court to be remanded for seven days until August 5 to assist the investigation.

According to China Press, the boy was attacked by the two men after he had filmed himself having sex with a 16-year-old-girl and later disseminated the video.

One of the two suspects is the girl's father. China Press reported that together with a friend, he threw punches and slaps on the boy before hitting him with plastic chairs.

It was further reported that the girl’s father then sent the boy to the police station instead of the hospital, where he accused him of sexually assaulting underaged girls.

The boy's parents were also called to the police station who found him badly bruised on his face and unable to speak.
