Missing boy found drowned in Sungai Plentong

JOHOR BARU: A nine-year-old boy who was reported missing for the past two days was found drowned in Sungai Plentong here.

Seri Alam OCPD Supt Sohaimi Ishak said the body was found by a 39-year-old man at about 11.30am on Sunday (July 31).

He said the victim's mother informed the police on Saturday (July 30) that her son had not returned since he left their house in Taman Plentong at around 3pm on (Friday) July 29.

“The victim did not return until 9pm, the mother lodged a report,” he said in a statement.

Supt Sohaimi said the body was taken to Hospital Sultan Ismail for post-mortem.

The case had been classified as sudden death, he said.
