National Month, fly Jalur Gemilang campaign going smoothly

PUTRAJAYA: Preparations for the launch of the 2022 National Month and the Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign, to be held at Dataran Putrajaya here on Saturday (July 30), are going smoothly, says Communications and Multimedia Ministry (K-KOMM) secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek.

He said the Information Department (JaPen), as the secretariat of the programme, with the cooperation of various parties, was making the necessary preparation to make the launch of the National Month and the Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign a success.

"I am satisfied with the preparations and the rehearsal held today and we very much welcome the Malaysian Family (Keluarga Malaysia) to further enliven the launch of the National Month," he told reporters at the rehearsal for the launch of the 2022 National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign here on Friday (July 29).

The rehearsal went smoothly, despite the drizzle.

He hoped that the weather in Putrajaya tomorrow would be fine so that all the interesting events outlined for the programme, including the "Berjalan Teguh Bersama” and a band performance, could be carried out smoothly as planned.

Mohammad said the theme song for this year's National Day celebration, "Keluarga Malaysia, Teguh Bersama” would be heard for the first time at the launching ceremony tomorrow.

The launching ceremony of the 2022 National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang, with the theme 'Malaysian Family Strong Together' at Dataran Putrajaya here tomorrow will be opened by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The "Berjalan Teguh Bersama” programme would also be held and involve the participation of Minister of Communications and Multimedia Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

More than 10,000 Malaysian Family are expected to join in the lesiure walk, to start at Dataran Putra to the Palace of Justice, which aims to spread the message on the spirit of unity and togetherness of Malaysians.

It is also one of the initiatives to support the aspirations of the Keluarga Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Mohammad hoped that owners of premises and buildings in Putrajaya, especially government buildings, will put up the Jalur Gemilang to celebrate the National Month this year. - Bernama
