KEPALA BATAS: Datuk Seri M. Saravanan (pic) has clarified that the attestation process involving over 2,000 Bangladeshi workers was conducted on the employers and not on recruitment agencies as has been reported by some news portal.
The Human Resources Minister said the attestation process was currently ongoing and was being conducted by Bangladeshi High Commission in Kuala Lumpur.
"Employers and recruiters do not mean the same thing, so I hope the media will not confuse what I have said in my statement," he said after launching the Malaysia Family Job Guarantee Carnival at Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP) Kepala Batas on Sunday (July 17).
He said the employers who had been approved by the ministry can start paying the levy and must submit the name list of their employees to the high commissioner office to verify that it is valid.
He said so far the ministry had approved the entries of Bangladeshi workers into the country in farming, agriculture, manufacturing and service sectors.
Earlier, he launched the Malaysia Family Job Guarantee Carnival at Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP) Kepala Batas that saw more than 12,000 job opportunities involving 24 employers being offered.
The two-day event was organised by Social Security Organisation (Socso) from July 16 - July 17.
Present during the event were Kepala Batas MP Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican and Socso chief executive officer Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed.
