Suspect who went on rampage remanded for four days


SUNGAI PETANI: A 54-year-old man who went on a rampage, setting a hut on fire and smashing a car windscreen, has been remanded for four days.

Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Zaidy Che Hassan said the suspect has been remanded from Tuesday (July 12) to Friday (July 15).

The suspect allegedly went berserk in front of a food outlet in Taman Seri Astana here on Monday (July 11) while holding a machete, and set fire to a hut.

He was said to have also smashed a car windscreen during the 10.20am incident.

The case is being probed under Sections 435, 427 and 506 of the Penal Code.
