Sibu woman fined RM500 for receiving RM8,000 in phone scam

SIBU: A woman was fined RM500 in default seven days' imprisonment by the Magistrate's Court on Wednesday (July 13) for unlawfully obtaining RM8,000 in her account in relation to a telephone scam.

The accused, Yio Tee Lung, 48, of Jalan Kempas, Kuching pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 37(1) of the Sarawak Minor Offence Ordinance 1958.
