Hari Raya Haji: 3,570 asnaf families in Sabah to receive 'korban meat'

YIKHLAS

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 3,570 asnaf families in Sabah will receive sacrificial meat through the Ibadah Korban programme with the state mufti which will be held on Sunday (July 10).

The programme organised by Yayasan Ikhlas in collaboration with the Sabah Mufti’s Office will perform the sacrificial rituals (ibadah korban) in two interior areas in Ranau and Sandakan.

Korban Ikhlas Campaign manager Mustafa Kamaruddin said the meat would be distributed in Ranau, Kuala Penyu, Kota Kinabalu, Semporna, Sandakan, Kota Belud and Kudat.

"This year Yayasan Ikhlas received cooperation from the Sabah Mufti's Office and the presence of state mufti Datuk Ustaz Bungsu @ Aziz Jaafar will definitely bring cheer to Muslims who live in the interior.

"The mufti will also perform the sacrificial rituals in Ranau and Sandakan.

"We are focusing on the interior areas to assist Muslims who are in need and cannot afford to taste the sacrificial meat," he said in a statement here on Saturday (July 9).

Mustafa added that those who wish to perform ibadah korban throughout the campaign period could register on korbanikhlas.com or call 010-3030 530 for more information.

The closing date for entries was on July 10.

Meanwhile, the statement said Bungsu would also pay a visit to Surau Al-Falah, Maahad Tahfiz As-Sobirin in Kampung Sosondoton, Ranau to see the progress of construction being implemented under the Demi Surauku project by Yayasan Ikhlas which was launched last Ramadan.

The foundation said that its cooperation with the Sabah Mufti’s Office also involved several projects in Borneo, including religious school projects, repairing and upgrading mosques, as well as clean water projects.

"Among the project is to build a mosque in Kampung Long Pasia, Sipitang," it said. - Bernama
