Cops searching for brother of murdered man and his wife


IPOH: Police here are looking for a 61-year-old man to help with a double murder at Taman Bercham Aman.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan said that the man was last seen driving one of the victims' car.

The victims have been identified as 64-year-old brother, Ng Chun Hon and his wife, Ooi Tin Lu, 59. The wanted man is believed to be Ng's younger brother.

"We received a report lodged by their eldest brother who found the two victims covered with blood in the living room of their house.

"Based on our early investigation, both victims suffered injuries from a sharp object on their heads," he told reporters at Taman Bercham Aman on Thursday (July 7).

ACP Yahaya added that the police believed the murders happened on Wednesday (July 6) night.

"The eldest brother worked as a security guard and was on the night shift. Hon's mother, in her 90s, who was also living in the same house was found unharmed in her room," he said, adding that the victims just moved from Kedah last year.

He added that the suspect also had a prior record for causing grievous hurt.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
