PETALING JAYA: Former Malaysian Qualifications Agency chief executive officer Datuk Dr Rujhan Mustafa passed away on Sunday (July 3) night at University Malaya Medical Centre here.
He had also served as Education Performance and Delivery Unit chief executive officer and Higher Education Department director-general.
He started his career as a lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) in 1994 before he was seconded to the then Higher Education Ministry in 2005 as Academic Division director, where he was responsible for the direction of academic programmes at public universities.
He later served as Higher Education Department deputy director-general in charge of public universities in 2009 before taking over as director-general in 2011.
The Higher Education Ministry and its Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad offered their condolences to his family and friends in a Facebook post on Monday (July 4).
