Driver injured after lorry skidded into ditch in Pekan Nanas


PEKAN NANAS: A lorry driver was injured after the vehicle skidded into a ditch at Jalan Kampung Seri Menanti, Kampung Seri Menanti here.

Pekan Nanas Fire and Rescue station chief Iqbal Riduan said they received an emergency call regarding the incident on Monday (July 4) at 1.22pm.

“The operations were led by senior officer II, Azmi Salam,’’ Iqbal said in a statement.

He said firemen used an equipment to rescue the 32-year-old victim who was pinned in the driver’s seat.

Iqbal said the victim received early treatment from the firemen before he was sent to the hospital by the Health Ministry ambulance.

The operations ended at 3.03pm.
