Share accurate info on efforts to tackle economic issues, PM tells media

KUALA LUMPUR: The media should educate the people by sharing knowledge and accurate information so that the Malaysian Family understands the government's efforts to combat various global economic issues, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Prime Minister said all ministries and government agencies have been cooperating with the media to assist and facilitate the channelling of balanced and verified information.

He said news reports sometimes guide authorities to take follow-up action such as channelling aid, for the well-being of the Malaysian Family.

"The government always listens and is concerned about the reports raised by the media," he said in a post on his Facebook page on Friday (July 1).

Ismail Sabri also took the opportunity to congratulate Berita Harian in conjunction with its 65th-anniversary celebration.

He also hoped that the newspaper would continue to grow and publish accurate and fair news and reports as well as help the government developed and advance the country for the sake of the Malaysian Family. – Bernama
