It’s up to Umno disciplinary board to decide on any action against Tajuddin, says Zahid

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman could be investigated by the Umno disciplinary board over statements he made during his tell-all press conference, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The Umno president said the board would decide whether Tajuddin’s outburst warrant an action.

On Monday (June 27), the Pasir Salak MP and former supreme council member claimed that Umno would lose in the general election if Ahmad Zahid was leading the party.

Tajuddin also claimed that there was a meeting to oust Ahmad Zahid in May 2020 in his residence, which was attended by Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin.

Ahmad Zahid said if there was any report, request or investigation needed, the disciplinary board would provide the recommendation.

“The supreme council will then decide on the action,” he told the media at the Kuala Lumpur High Court here on Tuesday (June 28).

Ahmad Zahid added that he was unaware of the meeting to oust him as claimed by Tajuddin.
