Khairy denies personally receiving contributions from UKSB

PETALING JAYA: Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin denies allegations of receiving contributions from Ultra Kirana Sdn Bhd (UKSB), the company implicated in former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's ongoing graft trial.

The Rembau MP told the media that the authorities have yet to call him for investigations and he was ready if needed.

“I have never personally received any contributions (monetary or political donations) as the court was told.

“I am ready to fully cooperate with the authorities if required to give any statements,” he told the media on Tuesday (June 21) fter launching the ministry's Hospital Directors Conference at Eastin Hotel here.

Last week, a former director of UKSB told the Shah Alam High Court that Khairy’s Rembau Umno division received contributions from the company but the money was not given directly to the MP.

Wan Quoris Shah Wan Abdul Ghani, 42, said contributions of between RM50,000 and RM200,000 were given by UKSB to the division as political aid and for disaster relief and humanitarian activities.

He said the contributions were channelled through the division and not given directly to Khairy, also known as KJ, who was then the deputy head of the division.
