Covid-19: Another 1,690 cases recorded, no deaths


PETALING JAYA: There has been a slight decrease in Covid-19 cases recorded with 1,690 cases on Sunday (June 19) compared to 2,127 recorded the day before.

Of the total, 10 were imported cases while the remainder were local infections.

According to the Health Ministry's CovidNow portal, this brings the cumulative number of cases to 4,540,612.

There were 2,108 recoveries on Sunday bringing the cumulative number to 4,478,936.

There are 25,944 active cases nationwide.

Of the active cases, 24,906 or 96% are undergoing home quarantine while 15 people are being treated at low quarantine and treatment centres.

There are 1,000 people (3.9%) in hospitals nationwide with 23 in intensive care units, 15 of whom require ventilation support.

There were no deaths reported due to Covid-19, the first time since Dec 18, 2020.
