Police form human chain to prevent lawyers from leaving Padang Merbok


KUALA LUMPUR: Lawyers gathered for the Walk for Judicial Independence on Friday (June 17) are unable to leave Padang Merbok, as police had cordoned off the area.

The police have also linked arms to form a human chain to prevent the lawyers from leaving.

Lawyer Siti Kassim, however, insists on being allowed to leave to walk to her car, which she said was parked near Parliament.

Police have said they will only allow 20 representatives to walk to Parliament to hand over a memorandum of protest.
