PKR polls: Rafizi edges ahead of Saifuddin in Melaka

PETALING JAYA: Rafizi Ramli has taken the lead against his rival Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail in the race for PKR deputy president, according to unofficial results from Melaka.

The former Pandan MP garnered 2,427 votes against Saifuddin's 1,468 in the state.

Melaka, which has fewer than 4,000 voters, is one of the states which has released updated results on PKR's party polls site.

It is understood that Hang Tuah Jaya MP Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin lost to Md Rafee Ibrahim in the contest for division chief.

In a separate statement, the PKR election committee chairman Dr Zaliha Mustafa said voting had concluded following some re-elections in 12 divisions in Kelantan, Kedah, Terengganu, Selangor and Sabah.

She said that unofficial results would be published on the party's website as scheduled.

"Results issued are subject to complaints and objections lodged with the election committee and investigations are being carried out by the complaints panel.

"Results will only become official at the party's congress on June 25 and 26," added Zaliha.
