Ku Li undecided on defending Gua Musang seat in GE15

PETALING JAYA: Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah says he is still uncertain if he will defend his Gua Musang seat in the 15th general election (GE15).

The former Umno advisory council chairman said he has not put much thought into it and that it was up to the grassroots and the party.

"I don't know, it's up to the members and the party.

“I myself am not in a good shape, I have to use a three-cylinder engine (saya sendiri pun dah teruk, kena pakai enjin tiga silinder),” he said at Galas assemblyman Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim's Hari Raya Aidilfitri ceremony in Bandar Utama, Gua Musang on Saturday (May 28).

Tengku Razaleigh added that all candidates, regardless of whether they were veterans or young members, have a chance to win in GE15 if they contested.

"Veteran or young is not the question, but it is about winning or not," he told a Malay daily.

"If the person is new but has an integrity problem or various conditions that do not meet the people's wishes, so he cannot win, what do you want to do?" he said.

Tengku Razaleigh, 85, is the longest-serving MP, holding the Gua Musang parliamentary seat for 12 terms since winning it in 1974.
