Man's body recovered off Teluk Bahang

GEORGE TOWN: The body of a man was found floating off Teluk Bahang here.

A state Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said that they received a distress call at 12.52pm on Saturday (May 28).

“When the Fire and Rescue team arrived at the scene and received information from the police that they had found the body of a man floating on the surface of the water at a distance of approximately 200m from the shore," said the spokesman.

He added that the body was brought to the shore by a tourist boat that was on location.

“With complete personal protection equipment, the firemen lifted the body, It was then handed over to the police for further action. The operation ended at 1.45pm,” he said.
