Dr Wee discusses RTS Link, HSR project with Singapore counterpart

PETALING JAYA: The Rail Transit System (RTS) Link and the High Speed Rail (HSR) project were among the topics discussed between Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and his Singapore counterpart S. Iswaran.

Dr Wee said the two met ahead of the Changi Aviation Summit 2022 in Singapore which begins on Tuesday (May 17).

"I thank His Excellency for his gracious invitation to attend the summit.

"We spoke for 90 minutes in a hotel in Singapore, where our delegation also held bilateral talks with other government officials attending CAS 2022.

"Among other matters, Iswaran and I also discussed the progress of the RTS Link, the way forward for the HSR project and Flight Information Region (FIR)," said Dr Wee in a Facebook post.

He said Malaysia and Singapore had taken a major step forward when both agreed to reopen their shared borders recently.

"With transportation between Malaysia and Singapore being of vital economic and social importance for our peoples, we have both leveraged our strong bilateral relations and taken big steps to lead the reopening of borders," said Dr Wee.
