Rapid Rail gives out one-way travel coupon to commuters affected by disruption at LRT Kelana Jaya

PETALING JAYA: A one-way travel coupon will be given to those affected by Tuesday’s (May 10) disruptions along the LRT Kelana Jaya line as compensation, says Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd.

Its chief executive officer Amir Hamdan said affected commuters could redeem their coupons from any RapidKL counter starting Tuesday.

“The coupons can be redeemed from today and be used across any RapidKL lines within the next five days.

“Commuters also do not have to provide any proof of their journey when redeeming them,” he told a press conference.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, a stranded train at the Taman Jaya LRT station caused travel disruptions along the LRT Kelana Jaya line.

The incident occurred at 8.16am and resulted in only one track being used from the Taman Bahagia LRT station to the Taman Jaya LRT station.

Operators then had to activate an alternative plan where passengers coming from Gombak and Putra Heights had to disembark at the Asia Jaya LRT station and hop on the next train to continue their journey.
