KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded fewer deaths on the road during this year's Ops Selamat, held in conjunction with the Aidilfitri celebration, despite a 7% increase in the total number of traffic accidents.
There were 508 accidents, an increase over 472 during the last corresponding operation held in 2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic, but only six fatalities against 14 that year.
