Cops hunting for driver who was overtaking dangerously in Batu Pahat


BATU PAHAT: The police are tracking down the driver of a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle that was caught on video overtaking dangerously over the double line here.

Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Ismail Dollah said police had detected a viral video on social media where a white 4WD was seen overtaking dangerously across a double line.

"We believe the incident took place in the Batu Pahat district.

"We have identified the owner of the car and at the same time, we also urge the owner and driver to come forward to have their statements recorded," he said in a statement on Sunday (May 8).

He said the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
