Raya celebration at Istana Negara a lively affair after two-year hiatus, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: After a two-year hiatus, the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration at Istana Negara was a lively one, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

In a Facebook post Monday (May 2), the Transport Minister said he had attended the Hari Raya Aidilfitri ceremony at Istana Negara in the morning.

“I attended the the Hari Raya Aidilfitri ceremony by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah together with Cabinet members, Deputy Ministers, Ambassadors and Foreign Delegates at Istana Negara this morning.

“This year's celebration was quite unusual and lively after not being organised for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and his wife Datin Seri Muhaini Zainal Abidin were also present at the ceremony,” he said.

Dr Wee added that Their Majesties interacted with the invited guests, especially the ambassadors and foreign delegates during the ceremony.

“Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf, Zahir dan Batin,” he also wished in his post.
