Ahmad Zahid testifies in graft case involving Yayasan Akalbudi funds


KUALA LUMPUR: Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic) has taken the stand at the High Court here as the first defence witness in his corruption case involving Yayasan Akalbudi (YAB).

After taking his oath on the stand, Ahmad Zahid began reading his 27-page witness statement in the proceedings that started at 9.40am on Wednesday (April 13).

On Jan 24, he was ordered to enter his defence in the case.

Ahmad Zahid is facing 47 charges – 12 for criminal breach of trust (CBT), eight for corruption and 27 for money laundering – involving tens of millions of ringgit belonging to YAB.
