SEPANG: AirAsia passengers will now be able to just 'test and go' when it comes to their Covid-19 RTK-Antigen tests at a new medical testing centre in gateway@klia2, says the airline.
It said that as part of enhanced screening services provided by the Century Medical Centre (CMC) Medijaya, the dedicated testing centre was set to provide a streamlined and hassle-free testing procedure that integrates with airline protocols including taking advance bookings, prioritising online payments and delivering efficient results for AirAsia guests.
CMC Medijaya and Pathlab group president and CEO Datuk Marcus Kam said Medijaya’s RTK test service at gateway@klia2 would be priced at RM60 for arriving AirAsia guests starting April 17.
It was also available for advance booking through the Medijaya website, he said.
"AirAsia guests may also present their boarding passes at the testing centre to enjoy exclusive benefits," he said.
Kam said the swabbing process would take less than five minutes, and the results would be uploaded to the MySejahtera app within 30 minutes after the swab.
"Guests will also receive a softcopy of the test results through email within 24 hours," he said.
For departing guests, the RT-PCR pre-departure test will be available at RM120 for AirAsia guests, he said.
"The PCR test results will also be ready within 24 hours after the swab is collected, and guests will receive a softcopy of the test result through email," it said.
"This new service was made possible through a partnership between AirAsia Aviation Group Limited (AAAGL) and CMC Medijaya, supported by medical testing provider Pathlab.
"AirAsia will be supporting Medijaya by promoting awareness of the new service for a seamless experience for guests departing and arriving at gateway@klia2," it said in a statement on Thursday (April 7).
AirAsia Malaysia CEO Riad Asmat said that the airline has been implementing numerous innovations and procedures to make flying more seamless and hygienic in the past two years to help restore customer confidence in flying.
"This is another example of how we are working with strategic partners to take the hassle out of air travel in the post-pandemic world.
"Through this collaboration, AirAsia guests can expect a seamless affordable efficient 'test and go' procedure for the Rapid Antigen Test (RTK) requirement on arrival at gateway@klia2 in a timely manner," he said after signing a memorandum of cooperation with Kam at AirAsia RedQ here on Thursday.
He added that the service would be looking to expand this service to all AirAsia passengers in other destinations across Malaysia and southeast Asia.
Kam said that they are looking forward to being a key strategic partner for AirAsia, especially in helping to revive the travel industry and the Malaysian economy.
"We shall ensure the best seamless service for 'test and go', with fast reporting of results.
"Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, our group has been fully supportive of the government’s efforts to combat the pandemic, and we are now all ready to again provide our unrelenting efforts to revive the country's economy and to return to normalcy," he said.
AirAsia said its guests may walk into any Medijaya testing facility in Malaysia starting April 14 or make advance purchases at the Medijaya health facility in gateway@klia2, and redeem them at any of its testing facilities in Malaysia.
"The testing facilities are currently available at Medijaya Kelana Jaya, Medijaya Bayu Tinggi (Klang), Medijaya Pandan Indah (KL), and Medijaya Johor Baru.
"Other testing facilities will soon be available at Kota Kinabalu and Melaka.
