PETALING JAYA: Beginning Monday (March 21), parents will be receiving appointment notifications for their kids’ second vaccination under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids).
Parents will receive the notifications via their MySejahtera app in stages based on the intervals between the first and second dose of vaccine and according to the type of vaccine received, MySejahtera said in a tweet on Sunday (March 20).
"The notification will be sent about two weeks before the date of appointment for the second dose," it said.
The time period for children who received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine is eight weeks from receiving the first dose, while those getting the second dose of the Sinovac vaccine, it will be four weeks.
MySejahtera also noted that parents who had received prior appointments to vaccination centres (PPV) that have been closed, new appointments will be sent to them through the app.
"Parents would be able to choose the new PPV, date, and time based on availability," it added.
It is reported that a total of 1,239,194 children aged five to 11 years old have received their first dose of a two-dose Covid-19 vaccine under PICKids as of March 19.
