Umno flag hoisted to mark start of 2021 general assembly

KUALA LUMPUR: The 2021 Umno general assembly has kicked off here on Friday (March 18) with the hoisting of the party flag.

The ceremony started with Youth, Wanita and Puteri wings raising their flags before party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and other supreme council members.

Clad in red and white attire, Umno members then sang the party anthem “Bersatu, Bersetia, Berkhidmat”.

Ahmad Zahid will be delivering his presidential address and this will be followed by debates.

Among the topics he is expected to address is the Johor Mentri Besar’s appointment as well as the 15th General Election, which was raised in the wings' meetings on Friday (March 18).

Also present at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur are Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, vice president and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.

The general assembly commenced on Wednesday (March 16) with the Youth, Wanita and Puteri wings assemblies and will end on Monday (March 21).
