Lorry driver escapes the gallows in murder case, gets 20 years in jail instead


PUTRAJAYA: A lorry driver escaped the gallows after the Court of Appeal commuted the sentence to 20 years in prison for causing the death of his girlfriend, six years ago.

A three-judge panel comprising justices Datuk Nor Bee Ariffin, Datuk Ahmad Nasfy Yasin and Datuk Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali made the unanimous decision on Tuesday (March 15) after allowing the appeal of N. Sanderasegaran, 34, as the appellant.
