Up to Hajiji to decide if KDM can be part of GRS, says Peter Anthony

KOTA KINABALU: It is up to Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor to decide if the newly formed Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) is accepted into the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition, says Datuk Peter Anthony.

The KDM president said Sabah leaders should stop fighting each other and could only push for more development and fight for state rights if they were united.

“Why not start from here, from zero? That way, we will have a stronger voice for the sake of Sabah and its people,” he said after the launch of the party at the Sabah International Convention Center here on Sunday (March 13).

The Melalap assemblyman said that his party would work alongside GRS and said they hoped to be part of the coalition.

He said KDM would focus on holding road shows to register new voters and prepare for the general election, which can be held anytime soon.

Anthony, the former Parti Warisan vice-president, quit the party together with Limbahau assemblyman Datuk Juil Nuantim on Dec 28, 2021.

On KDM, Anthony said the new party would serve all, regardless of race and religion and would fight for state rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
