Johor polls: Yong Peng candidate Ling Tian Soon or 'Ah Soon' ever ready to help the people, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: Yong Peng candidate Ling Tian Soon is a talented and dynamic young leader who is loved by the local community, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president said he had a walkabout with the Barisan Nasional candidate at coffee shops in the constituency on Monday (March 7).

"Ling, or better known by the people of Yong Peng as 'Ah Soon', is a... young leader (whose) politeness, friendliness, hardworking nature and willingness to listen to the people's views have made him popular and respected by all in Yong Peng,” he said.

Dr Wee, who is also Transport Minister, said Ling was no stranger to the locals.

“He has served Yong Peng for 12 years since being appointed as my special assistant at the Ayer Hitam MP service centre, and is currently my political secretary.

“Ah Soon is better known by the local community compared to other candidates.

“Almost every day, he is seen here and there in the Ayer Hitam parliamentary constituency, especially Yong Peng.

“As long as they need help, people from Yong Peng will definitely find Ah Soon at my service centre or at the coffee shops around Yong Peng that he often stops by,” he said.

Ling will face DAP's Alex Tee and Perikatan Nasional's Susan Yong, who resides in Kulai.

“Hopefully Ah Soon will be successfully elected as Yong Peng assemblyman on March 12.

“Do give him your support and mandate,” Dr Wee said.
