Police arrest foreigner for allegedly molesting a colleague at work

KLANG: A foreign worker has been arrested for touching the buttocks of one of his female colleagues.

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong said the incident occurred at 9am on Wednesday (March 2).

"The 35-year-old suspect was arrested at a warehouse in Telok Gong at around 11pm on the same day. The victim, a 29-year-old single mother, lodged a report, claiming that the suspect had touched her buttocks while they were working at the warehouse," he told reporters on Thursday (March 3).

ACP Cha said checks showed the victim started working for just three months while the suspect had worked there for four years.

"We arrested the suspect at his place of work. The motive is under investigation," he said, adding that the suspect has been remanded for two weeks.

He said the case would be investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for outraging the modesty of a person.
