Covid-19: LHDN provides tax relief for vaccinations, screenings under 2021 assessment

PETALING JAYA: The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) is providing tax relief for Covid-19 vaccinations and screenings for self, spouses and children in its 2021 tax relief assessment.

The board on its website said that an individual is eligible for an exemption of up to RM1,000.

Aside from vaccination, an individual is also eligible for tax relief for vaccination against other diseases such as human papillomavirus (HPV), influenza and rotavirus, among others.

During the tabling of the Finance Bill 2021 last year, Deputy Finance Minister I Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah said the tax exemption for Covid-19 screening is included in the amendments of the Income Tax Act 1967.
