Johor polls: BN aims to win to 12 out of 16 seats in northern region, says Zahid

MUAR: Barisan Nasional aims to win at least 12 out of the 16 state seats in the northern region of Johor, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic).

The Umno president said that Barisan should learn from the last general election (GE14) where it won only two seats in the northern Johor region.

"Johor was once the fixed deposit for Barisan Nasional, we need to bring the glory days of the party back.

"In the past election, we only won two seats in the northern region.

"In this election, we should retain the two seats, regain 10 more and increase the number of voters for four more," he said.

He said this during the launch of Barisan Nasional northern Johor election machinery held at the Komplels Pekembar Pagoh here.

Also present were MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, MIC vice-president M. Asojan and Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
