Dr Wee visits RTS Link project site at Bukit Chagar in JB

PETALING JAYA: With a capacity of 10,000 passengers per hour per direction, the Rapid Transit System Link (RTS Link) will provide easy and comfortable transportation between Johor Baru and Singapore in just five minutes, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Transport Minister visited the RTS Link project site at Wadi Hana and Bukit Chagar in Johor Baru to get updates on the construction progress.

“I visited the RTS Link project site at Wadi Hana and Bukit Chagar to get updates on the construction progress including the initial piling tests and review suggestions to improve traffic diversion,” he said in a Facebook post on Thursday (Jan 27).

He added that the Bukit Chagar station will also be connected to various locations in Johor Baru through the Iskandar Rapid Transit System spearheaded by the Johor state government and the Iskandar Regional Development Authority.

The project, which was meant to be completed in 2024, was suspended and was resumed on July 30, 2020.

The project is now slated to be completed by the end of 2026.
