KUALA LUMPUR: Ten suspects were arrested after the police crippled a scam operation in Jalan Ampang.

KL Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief Asst Comm Mahidisham Ishak, in a statement on Wednesday (Jan 19), said that the raid on Jan 17 saw two raids at the same apartment building on Jalan Ampang.

“The first raid saw the arrests of seven people, aged from 22 to 35. A laptop and 17 phones were confiscated.

“Following that, a second raid at a separate unit there saw three more arrests. Scripts used for their scams were also recovered and the suspects arrested were aged from 22 to 35 years old,” he said.

It is believed that the group had been operating since the middle of 2020.
